Attend the service in Catholic in Mochou Lu Church

Religious Service
On December 14th , I went to a Catholic church to attend a service in Cathilicism in Mochou Road because I thought it would be a good chance to learn Western religion . Luckily, I met some of my classmates there. We sat together waiting until the beginning of the service “A Christmas Service”.
The whole service started with a beautiful song called “O Come O Come Emmanuel” to welcome all the visitors. I held the brochure to see the lyric and sang along with the band even though I couldn’t sing it well.
After that, we went on to the second part. It was “Responsive Prayer”. A Chinese priest said some words and we needed to gave him response. He said “Beloved in Christ, as we wait for Christmas” We answered “Allow us to see how the angels announced the birth of Christ.” I found the part a little bit boring because I could just follow it.
However, the most interesting part was to see the drama “The True Christmas Story”It was performed by seminary students and some kindergarden children. I like the part that Jesus was born“That night, some shepherds were in the fields near Bethlehem, keeping watch over their flocks of sheep. An angel appeared to them and gave them the good news that a Savior, the Messiah, had been born. The angel told the shepherds they could find Jesus lying in a manger. Suddenly a whole group of angels appeared saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!The shepherds hurried into Bethlehem and found Jesus in the manger, just as the angel had told them. After they had seen Jesus, they spread the news, and everyone who heard was in awe.”I knew the legend of the birth of Jesus after watching that.
The service ended with another song and I walked out of the church.I found it interesting because I thought I learned some important things on Catholicism especially the drama gave me a deep impression on the birth of Jesus.I think the birth of Jesus bring peace to the world and give the people who was guilty a place to repent.

The Taming Of The Shrew

Go to a Performance
I went to see a drama called “the taming of the shrew” with most of my classmates at NFLS Auditorium starting at 6:30 p.m. on December 19 2008.
This drama “the taming of the shrew ” was based on the scenario written by Shakespare. I was quite interested in Shakespare’s plays and I had never heard of this play. Moreover, all the money collect would go to the charity. Therefore, I would like to go to have a look.
This drama was mainly about a story the main character Katharina, who is an intelligent, but grumpy shrew, unwillingly married a nobleman, Petruchio. Afterwards, Petruchio “tamed” his wife into an obedient and gentle woman.
However,I thought the most interesting part was that Petruchio and Kate returns home and Petruchio used all his talents to tame the shrew, especially when Petruchio didn’t let Kate have a good night sleep and Kate got mad. It was performed really fantastic. Moreover, to my surprise, in scene7,people gathered at Lucentio’s house. The men bet whose wife will obey their orders. Not a single woman obeys their husband except for Kate. I really laughed at those man because the actors who performed those men looked so embarrassed at that time.
I really enjoyed the drama and I found it interesting because of the good performance and the fantastic scenario written by Shakespare. Last thing I want to say is if we tried our best to achieve the goal and never give up,we could get it like Petruchio tried his best to “tame” Kate and they finally fell in love.
