I went to the Jiangsu Province Museum with my friends Parker and Joe on the eighth of March. Jiangsu Province Museum was on Changjiang Road next to Nanjing people’s Great Hall. The exhibition was shown freely to the public all the time. The exhibition was called Calligraphy and Chinese painting. There were two floors in the museum building, the first floor mainly contained the calligraphies and there were many Chinese paintings on the second floor. I choose this exhibition mainly because I love painting and drawing.
A calligraphy appeals to me. It was written in ancient Chinese words by a contemporary artist. The title of the calligraphy was “Lively Evergreen trees”. The words were written powerfully in a very dark black on the scroll. I could feel the power of life even the smallest creatures not only from the meaning of the ancient Chinese words but also from the way of writing. I gained a lot of insight from the calligraphy that is I need to be full of courage and confidence to face the future life.
I thought it’s very interesting to me because I was attracted by the contents of the Chinese paiting. I liked the exhibition very much because I gained a lot of insight from those calligraphies and paintings after thinking deeply.
